Real won the day Hazard scored the first goal

Eden Hazard scored one goal and created another, helping Real Madrid beat Granada 4-2 in round 8 of La Liga.

Before the evening of October 5, Real had a remarkable confrontation record when they won all of the last nine times. And the Bernabeu team only takes 102 seconds to open the score. Karim Benzema scored a precise shot from the outside of Gareth Bale’s left foot.

Before the 8th round, Granada was surprisingly second in La Liga, with only one point less than Real. However, the newly promoted team cannot close the gap to class in an overnight manner.

Real do not need to attack too or still create many good opportunities towards goal keeper Rui Silva. If Silva did not have two excellent saves against Valverde and Carvajal, the gap could have increased soon. But before the attack pressure of the home team, Granada could not avoid continuing to concede before the end of the first half.

After receiving a Fede Valverde cross, Eden Hazard raised the ball across the head of goalkeeper Silva. This is the first time Hazard scored for Real in an official match. In the previous five visits, the former Chelsea star completely “silent” in the final stage as well as create.

Having the advantage in terms of score and psychology, Real continued to dominate. They only need another 15 minutes early in the second half to increase the score to 3-0. This time, Hazard played an assist, with a good pass into the middle of the pitch for Luka Modric to shoot the roof of Granada from about 25 m.

After some favorable developments, Real suddenly lost stability. The defense began to reveal gaps like many recent matches. In the 69th minute, Alphonse Areola, the main goal keeper in place of Thibaut Courtois, passed slowly to lead to kicking the foot of Carlos Fernandez. The referee decided to give Granada a penalty, and from that opportunity Darwin Manchis shortened the lead to 1-3.

In the 77th minute, Real’s defense against a corner failed, so that Domingos Duarte cushioned his heart when the ball crossed the 5m50 area. In the stands, the visitors cheered frantically and chanted: “Yes, we can do it”.

In the opposite direction, the Real fans were silent and worried when the home team conceded two goals in eight minutes. The obsession with losing PSG 0-3 or drawing Club Brugge 2-2 might come back to them. However, bad things didn’t happen.
